Samsung is planning a return to its old strategy of using different processors for its flagship phones in different regions.
The upcoming Galaxy S26 series, likely to launch in early 2026, is rumoured to feature the new Exynos 2600 chip in Europe. Most other markets-including the US and Asia-will get the next-generation Snapdragon processor.

Exynos 2600 is indeed planned to be used in the S26.
Currently, due to reportedly low yield, it is likely to be equipped mainly in European models.
An industry source emphasized that even in the AP for the S26, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon…
This move comes after two years of using only Snapdragon chips in all Galaxy S models worldwide.
The main reason for the split is the low production yield of the Exynos 2600, which is made on Samsung’s advanced 2nm process.
Current production rates are around 40%, which is not enough for a global rollout, so Samsung is focusing on Europe for Exynos-powered models.
Performance is another factor. Early reports suggest the Snapdragon chip will outperform the Exynos 2600, especially in graphics and battery life.
European users have previously expressed frustration over getting Exynos versions, which often lag behind Snapdragon models in these areas.
It’s still unclear if all S26 models will follow this split. Leaks suggest the S26 Ultra might use Snapdragon worldwide, similar to the S24 Ultra’s strategy.
The Galaxy S26 series is expected to be announced in January 2026. As always, more details will emerge closer to launch. However, for now, European buyers should expect Exynos under the hood, while others will get Snapdragon power.
