Itel has launched the City 100, the first smartphone in its new CITY Series, packed with cutting-edge features at a pocket-friendly price.

Unveiled on April 27, 2025, this device targets young users in markets like Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. It offers a blend of style, durability, and smart tech.

AI Innovation with DeepSeek R1

What makes the City 100 special is its integration of the DeepSeek R1 AI model, a first for Itel. This AI powers smart features like text-to-wallpaper creation, image styling, instant translation, and even shopping assistance with a one-press search.

It also offers AI writing help, call noise reduction, and voice commands, bringing high-end tech to an affordable device.

This focus on AI shows Itel’s aim to make advanced technology accessible to everyone, especially Gen Z users who crave a connected lifestyle. Imagine turning simple text into a custom wallpaper with just a tap-that’s the kind of innovation the City 100 brings.

Sleek Design and Strong Performance

The City 100 sports a slim 7.65 mm body with a 6.75-inch display, offering a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and 700 nits brightness for clear visuals even in sunlight. It’s also tough, with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, and can survive drops up to 1.5 meters.

Under the hood, it runs on Android 14 with Itel’s Pure 14.5 OS, powered by a Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor. With up to 8 GB RAM (plus virtual RAM) and 256 GB storage, it handles daily tasks like browsing and social media easily. A massive 5,200 mAh battery with 18W fast charging ensures long-lasting use.

Unique Features and Pricing

Beyond AI, the City 100 offers unique features like an infrared (IR) remote control, letting users control TVs or ACs directly from the phone. It also comes with a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP selfie camera, decent for its price range. In select markets, buyers get a free magnetic speaker as a bonus.

Priced at around ₹7,799 in India (expected) and roughly $85 globally, the City 100 competes with budget phones like the Xiaomi Redmi A5 4G or Itel Power 70. Its mix of AI, design, and extras makes it a standout choice for cost-conscious buyers.
