OnePlus has officially announced its ambitious entry into artificial intelligence with the launch of OnePlus AI, a comprehensive suite of personalized AI features designed to enhance user productivity and creativity. The announcement comes just days before the OnePlus 13s launches in India on June 5, 2025.
Indian Express reports the Chinese smartphone manufacturer positions this initiative as “personal intelligence” rather than just another collection of AI tools. Arthur Lam, Director of OxygenOS and AI Strategy, emphasized that OnePlus AI aims to help users “go All In On Life” by creating tailored AI experiences.
Plus Key Replaces Alert Slider
The most notable hardware change is the introduction of the Plus Key, a customizable button that replaces OnePlus’s iconic Alert Slider.

This programmable button can perform various functions including switching sound profiles, launching cameras, and accessing AI features. The Plus Key serves as the primary gateway to AI Plus Mind, OnePlus’s answer to information overload.
Users can capture on-screen content like schedules, reservations, and important information by simply pressing the Plus Key or performing a three-finger swipe gesture. The captured data gets organized in a dedicated Mind Space, where AI automatically categorizes and analyzes information for easy retrieval using natural language searches.
Comprehensive AI Feature Suite
OnePlus AI includes several productivity-focused tools. AI VoiceScribe records, summarizes, andtranslates calls across popular messaging and video applications.
The AI Call Assistant, initially exclusive to India, offers real-time call translation and automated summaries through the OnePlus Dialer app.
The platform also features AI Translation that consolidates text, voice, camera, and screen translation into one application.
AI Reframe analyzes photo scenes and suggests creative framing options. AI Best Face 2.0 can fix closed eyes and expressions in group photos supporting up to 20 people.
Privacy and Security Focus
OnePlus emphasizes privacy protection through its hybrid AI architecture, prioritizing on-device processing for most tasks. For computationally intensive operations, the company utilizes a Private Computing Cloud built on a Trusted Execution Environment, ensuring data remains encrypted and secure during processing.
The platform claims full compliance with regional privacy regulations including those in India and the European Union.
The OnePlus 13s will be the first device to showcase AI capabilities. It features a 6.32-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and 32MP autofocus front camera. The compact flagship promises all-day battery life and competes directly with the Samsung Galaxy S25, iPhone 16, and Xiaomi 15 in the premium segment.
