SpaceX’s Starlink has introduced a new, budget-friendly Mini Router priced at just $40 in the US, aiming to make satellite internet even more accessible and flexible for users at home and on the move.

The compact Starlink Mini Router (model UTR-251) is designed to work seamlessly with the $500 Starlink Mini dish kit, extending Wi-Fi range beyond what the integrated router offers.

With support for Wi-Fi 6 dual-band and coverage up to 1,500 square feet, the Mini Router is ideal for smaller spaces, basic Wi-Fi needs, or eliminating dead spots in larger homes.

One of its standout features is mesh compatibility-users can pair the Mini Router with other Starlink routers (Gen 2, Gen 3, or other Minis) to build a mesh network. This setup allows homeowners to place routers in different rooms, ensuring fast and reliable internet throughout larger properties.

For those who travel or work remotely, the Mini Router is a game-changer. It’s compact, weather-resistant, and can be used as a range extender for the Starlink Mini dish, making it perfect for RVs, camping, or temporary setups where strong Wi-Fi is needed on the go.

While the Mini Router is currently available only in the United States, SpaceX plans to expand its availability to other regions soon. At just $40, it’s one of the most affordable ways to boost Starlink’s Wi-Fi coverage, whether at home or on the road.

Experts believe this move will make Starlink even more attractive for families, digital nomads, and anyone needing reliable internet in hard-to-reach places. The low price and mesh capabilities set it apart from previous models and many other portable routers in the market.
