The smart lighting brand WiZ has launched its new HDMI Sync Box with TV Backlight, aiming to make immersive home entertainment more affordable for everyone.
The device lets your TV’s backlight and connected WiZ smart lights match the colors and brightness of whatever you’re watching, creating a dynamic, cinema-like experience right in your living room.
The WiZ HDMI Sync Box comes in two sizes: one for 55–65-inch TVs priced at $89.99 (about ₹7,500), and a larger version for 75–85-inch TVs at $109.99. Both models include a three-sided RGBIC LED strip that attaches to the back of your TV.
This is a huge price drop compared to the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, which starts at $249.99 and doesn’t even include a light strip in the box.
WiZ’s Sync Box supports 4K resolution at 60Hz, with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision compatibility. It’s easy to set up-just connect your HDMI device, attach the light strip, and you’re set. The box also features a built-in microphone to sync lights with music, and you can control everything using the WiZ app, voice assistants, or a remote.
However, there are some trade-offs for the lower price. The WiZ box has only one HDMI input, unlike the Hue Play box which has four, so you’ll need to manually switch devices or use an external HDMI switch if you have multiple gadgets. Also, it doesn’t support the latest HDMI 2.1 standard or 120Hz gaming, which the pricier Hue model offers.
For most families and movie lovers, the WiZ HDMI Sync Box delivers a fun, immersive lighting upgrade at a fraction of the cost of its rivals, making it a smart choice for budget-conscious tech fans in India and beyond.
