Xiaomi is preparing to expand its Electric Scooter 5 lineup with a new Plus variant, according to recent regulatory filings. The company appears ready to launch this model globally after securing certification in the United Arab Emirates.
According to a report by The Tech Outlook, the Electric Scooter 5 Plus has been registered on the TDRA certification database in the UAE under model number DDHBC24LQ. This certification marks a significant step toward commercial release.
Positioning in Xiaomi’s Scooter Lineup
The Electric Scooter 5 Plus will likely slot between the standard Electric Scooter 5 and the Pro model in terms of specifications and features. This positioning strategy follows Xiaomi’s approach of offering multiple variants to cater to different user needs and budgets.
The regulatory filing describes the device as a “low power/short-range” vehicle, which aligns with the standard Electric Scooter 5’s 60-kilometer range capability. This suggests the Plus variant may maintain similar battery performance while offering enhanced features.
Expected Features and Specifications
Based on the existing Electric Scooter 5 series, the Plus model is expected to feature a motor with a power output between 700W and 1000W. The scooter will likely include tubeless 10-inch tires, dual shock absorbers, and a smart display integrated into the handlebars.
The current Electric Scooter 5 offers a 477Wh battery pack, three speed modes (6km/h, 20km/h, and 25km/h), and IPX5 water resistance. The Plus variant may incorporate similar core features with potential upgrades in comfort or connectivity.
Availability and Pricing
Xiaomi has already launched multiple variants in the Electric Scooter 5 series, including the standard model, Pro, Max, and Elite versions. The Electric Scooter 5 Max, unveiled at MWC 2025, features a 1000W motor and is priced at €599.99 globally.
The company has not announced official pricing or launch dates for the Electric Scooter 5 Plus. However, the UAE certification suggests that the global rollout could begin soon, following Xiaomi’s typical pattern of regional certifications preceding worldwide availability.
