Built upon the foundation of Android 17, the major firmware upgrade introduces refined monochrome design elements, enhanced AI lockscreen widgets, and optimized battery scheduling algorithms. The company has published its complete rollout timeline alongside the list of eligible smartphones.

The upcoming Nothing OS 5.0 build focuses on deeper customization and fluid animations across the proprietary dot-matrix user interface.

The confirmed list of smartphones eligible to receive the Nothing OS 5.0 upgrade includes:
- Flagship & Mid-Range Series: Nothing Phone (4b), Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro, and Phone (3).
- Community & Affordable Lineup: Nothing Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Lite, Phone (3a) Pro, Phone (2a), and Phone (2a) Plus.

End of Software Support for Legacy Nothing Devices
With the release of version 5.0, older hardware iterations have officially reached the conclusion of their major operating system upgrade lifecycle.
The original Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2), and CMF Phone 1 will not receive the Android 17-based update. While dropping legacy models limits long-term support for early adopters, it allows Nothing to optimize advanced UI rendering features specifically for newer silicon architectures.
