Viwoods AiPaper and AiPaper Mini Receive Multi-Device Cloud Sync in Major Firmware Update

Viwoods rolls out cloud sync for the AiPaper and AiPaper Mini, adding 10GB of free native storage along with Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox integration.

E-paper tablet maker Viwoods has rolled out a comprehensive firmware update for its flagship AiPaper and compact AiPaper Mini devices, introducing dedicated cloud synchronization.

The update solves one of the platform’s most requested features, allowing users to seamlessly backup and access their handwritten notes across multiple screens.

Native Viwoods Cloud and Third-Party Storage

At the center of the rollout is the new Viwoods Cloud service, which provides users with 10GB of free cloud storage right out of the box. The native system syncs notebook files, document annotations, and reading progress automatically in the background over Wi-Fi.

For users already embedded in external ecosystems, Viwoods has integrated direct one-click connectivity with Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Dropbox. This flexibility ensures that exported PDF summaries and vector handwriting files automatically populate into personal cloud drives.

Flexible Local and Temporary Transfers

  • ViTransfer Pipeline: Enables fast, encrypted temporary sharing between tablets and PCs via a web portal, with files auto-deleting after 24 hours.
  • Granular App Toggles: Users can customize sync rules on an app-by-app basis to conserve battery and cloud bandwidth.
  • Local WLAN Sync: Supports server-free direct file transfers across local home and office Wi-Fi networks.
  • Open Android Ecosystem: Full compatibility with sideloaded Android syncing utilities like Syncthing and Resilio Sync.

The firmware also delivers system-wide optimizations to handwriting latency and document rendering speeds. Users can check for the update directly in the device settings menu under system preferences, with global rollouts expanding over the coming days.

E-Paper Competitive Positioning

With this expansion, Viwoods significantly strengthens its standing against dominant digital paper rivals like reMarkable, Onyx Boox, and Supernote.

Unlike competitors that lock essential cloud backup behind monthly subscriptions or restrict users to proprietary servers, Viwoods’ inclusion of free 10GB storage alongside open third-party cloud integration offers superior flexibility for productivity enthusiasts.
